" Joy and work are woven fine,
A clothing for the soul divine;
Under every grief and pine ;
Runs a joy with silken twine ."
In the first stanza poet says that joy and woe are woven fine.woven means things which are attached in each other . Joy and work both are very important for life.they both are like clothes of soul.
Joy and woe = clothes of soul
In every grief,there are also joy, we need to find it.we are not here for only happiness or for only pain but we are made for both and when we know that joy and woe both are part of our life,we can live happily in grief also.
Joy . Woe
\ life balance /
Poet gave an example of silken twine.he is trying to say that worm of silk makes thread of silk with larva. The worm is suffering from pain. But the results of this pain is good.like this there are pain and happiness are not permanent.
" It is right it should be so ;
Man was made for joy and woe;
And when this we rightly know;
Safely through the world we go."
In the second stanza poet is trying to say that accept both is trying to say that accept both pain and joy. Do not become unhappy when sad moment come.there are also happy moment too. Knows happy both are part of everyones life and love happily.
If there is always grief the life become very boring and the man feel that his life is full of pain.if there is always happiness than life becomes boring. Both are very important
